Quiet and green residential area composed only of villas.

Municipality

Chêne-Bourg, a town where life is good, has been able to adapt to the demands of contemporary life while preserving the testimonies of its past.
The town is located on the left bank of Lake Geneva and the Seymaz river. It is partly surrounded by the commune of Thônex. Outside the historic core, the municipality is densely populated, with a number of villas and small multi-family buildings.

Public transport

The crossing of the town by the greenway and more recently the commissioning of the Léman Express, with the station of Chêne-Bourg, contribute to reducing road traffic, and constitute an opportunity for everyone to rethink their daily mobility. Some may opt for cycling along the greenway. For others, it will be a question of opting for faster and more comfortable journeys, by combining different modes of travel. The TPGs have also worked to synchronize their network with the Léman Express, by reorganizing certain lines and creating new ones. In addition, the construction of an underground bike station and the development of surface bicycle spaces complete the picture in favor of soft mobility. Added to this is the construction of a shared car park distributed in the basement between the Léman Express, the existing buildings and the buildings planned for this site. The new station square thus constitutes a vast transport platform.
